| | FunkyCoverz | Funk-Elist Newsletter | February 2007 | | 2007/02 |
Hi Funk-Elisters
January has now ended (as should your silly season now have?!). With it being a fresh new year, we thought it was also time to give our website home page a bit of a facelift – hopefully it’s a bit more "fresh" and helpful.
We’ve also added a seasonal gifts page, which will change throughout the year. I’m sure you can guess this month’s focus?
VALENTINE'S DAY
"Give all to love; obey thy heart." - Ralph Waldo Emerson (1847)
Need to give your loved one any hints?
You can send a hint to your loved one about something you like on our website, or view our love gifts for her and love gifts for him.
(nb: links to his & her love gifts now removed, but you can still send a hint...)
If you're still stuck, we can help with gift ideas or suggest gifts under $10, gifts under $20 and gifts under $30.
Don't forget our gift vouchers and gift wrapping options.

Let us introduce two more KROO Totes. The Totes are a good size for different size mobile phones and for use with your iPod or digital camera. These two styles also come with a complimentary shoulder strap.

INDUSTRY NEWS
Have Fun with your Mobile:
Jamster can provide the latest in mobile phone extras - latest ringtones , free logos , colour wallpapers , fun sounds and more...
Mobile Phone Security:
Fact: more than 200,000 mobile phones are reported lost or stolen each year, meaning 4,000 each week, or one mobile phone handset every three minutes.
Lost and stolen phones (and tips for the prevention of)
The Australian Mobile Telecommunications Authority (AMTA) website provides information on mobile phone security, theft prevention, recording your IMEI code and much more.
Their advice?
- Treat your phone as you would any valuable item (keep it close, don’t leave it unattended)
- Use your phone’s security features (set a PIN)
- Engrave / personalise it
- Record your IMEI number (check your IMEI number by dialling *#06)
- Insure it (more on this in a future newsletter)
Buying a second-hand phone?
Always insist on proof of ownership prior to purchasing a second-hand mobile phone. Go to the AMTA website: Lost & Stolen section and input the IMEI code, check to make sure the mobile phone has not been reported lost or stolen.
THIS MONTH'S HANDY TIP
Lost or Stolen Mobile Phones
First steps to take if you have lost your mobile, or had it stolen:
- Immediately notify your network carrier (and the police)
- Advise them of your IMEI number and ask for a block to be placed on it. This prevents your phone from being able to be used on all Australian networks, with or without a new SIM card. (If your handset is found or returned, you can have the IMEI block removed.)
- Advise them of any identifying features, like if you’ve engraved it etc.
Advising your network carrier also ensures you will not be charged for any subsequent calls made.
